Imagination is a renewable resource….
“Mother Earth Trust is for people who want to do better by the planet, but don’t always know where to start. We make it easier, less overwhelming, and more human.”
What can I do?
AS the late Jane Goodall said ‘“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
It’s not always easy to make the best choices in this busy world, but one choice we can make is where our money goes.

“The Last Place on Earth” is a nine-year journey into the heart of Sumatra’s Leuser Ecosystem—a 2.6-million-hectare rainforest where tigers, elephants, rhinos, and orangutans still roam free. Filmed by a dedicated mostly Indonesian crew, this investigative documentary follows a group of extraordinary wildlife activists as they risk everything to save one of Earth’s last untouched wildernesses from the devastation of the illegal palm oil industry.
From dramatic animal rescues and high-stakes arrests of poachers to the reforestation of thousands of hectares, each victory underscores the power of human determination in the face of overwhelming odds. “The Last Place on Earth” reveals the urgent need to protect our planet’s most irreplaceable treasures before it’s too late.

The Trust also supported an environmental film ‘Ceibo’ concerned with the cost of human consumption, focusing on the Indigenous people of Ecuador and their relationship to the land and their natural resources. This unique film guides the viewer through this amazing country speaking to the communities affected by the extraction of the earth’s resources on an industrial level and asks us philosophical questions about the cost of our consumption-
Mother Earth Trust gave a seed grant to Racc’Moder (to mend or repair in Jèrriais) to support a two day visit to Jersey undertaken by ‘Evolving Forests’, ‘Assemble’ and ‘Material Cultures’. The purpose was to evaluate the fallen grandmother & grandfather trees from Storm Ciarán. These were subsequently turned into products for public benefit resulting in 140 tonnes of rescued timber from waste feeding into local projects for the public realm. The funding also trained numerous people in milling + workshops for land stewards. Racc’moder is in the process of becoming an NPO and are now a SEE government backed social enterprise. Benches made from the reclaimed timber are at the airport and the Central Market in St Helier and desks have been made for a new non-profit wellbeing hub supported by Jersey government.
